... yes, I had strawberries with cream. Actually, I had strawberries without cream. This pot was just hi-jacked for a quick photoshoot.
So, strawberries - but not just any strawberries. They were Wimbledon strawberries with cream, enjoyed at the Tennis Championship Finals yesterday. I count myself incredibly lucky to have got my hands on a pair of tickets for the event yesterday, courtesy of none other than the cooksister!
I have to admit that I am a novice to the game, with my husband explaining the rules on the way there, but I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I still won't watch a match on TV where I find it unbelievably boring, but sitting right there with all the action unfolding in front of me, and of course, all the etiquette surrounding it, was really enjoyable.
I just love these great British events like the Royal Regatta at Henley and the Tennis at Wimbledon, they're such civilised events and so classy. No one can compete with the Brits in this catagory, I believe. Some day, I might make my way to Ascot as well, just have to wait for Jeanne go the extra mile to get some tickets for herself and then find someone to whisk her off to Paris on the day of the event...

wow! tickets to the wimbledon finals! i watched them on tv yesterday and federer was awesome. i have been wanting to go there for such a long time it's unreal - ever since i got my first racket, i suppose. you're so lucky! did you also have some pimms & lemondae?

hi joshua, unfortunately i had to pass on the pimms - not allowed to drink at the moment. but i made some for my friend who was visiting last week... including the cucumber and strawberries and mint - she loved it! and i agree, this is quintessentially english as well, at least in the summer!

Hahahah, yes, it was a tough call, Wimbledon or Paris... ;-) All you have to do to repay me is to do the dialling for our next table booking at the Fat Duck :o)
Glad you enjoyed Wimbledon - Paris was awesome, as always. We will have to compare notes soon!
