Celebrating 2 years of blogging

Ain't time flying when you're having fun? I only realised last weekend that it was exactly two years ago today that I wrote my first blog entry on thepassionatecook. Back then, I actually managed to publish a recipe almost every day, but what with a day job and two kids in the house, my blogging metabolism has sort of slowed down a little. My enthusiasm, however, hasn't faded one single bit.
And I've enjoyed the ride! Even though I suffered a few low points (one memorable one being chopping off the tip of one finger while opening a packet of pasta), there have been enough high points to make up for it: winning and almost winning the "Does-my-blog-look-good-in-this" award in January 2005 and November 2004 respectively, the publication of my first recipe in a Japanese book, a compilation of my recipes in Digital Dish, a mention in "Olive" magazine as one of the world's five best foodblogs... and the company of lots of amazingly talented and witty foodbloggers that I have met personally over the years.
I managed to develop an especially close friendship with Jeanne, the cooksister, and since she also started her blog around the same time, it is only fitting to be celebrating together: and in style!
We are planning a merry get-together with crates of pink bubbly, baskets of strawberries dunked in white chocolate and platters of divine finger food (all hand-made, of course, except the bubbly!).
We will be sending invites to those blogs we know are in the vicinity, but it is an open invitation for all you foodbloggers in and around London and those who can afford the airfare!
So if you want to join in the fun, drop me a line and pencil this in now: the date is the 17th of June, from mid-afternoon 'til, well, probably 'til we can indulge no more...

Happy Blogday. Mine will be on May 14th. And it might so pass I can be in the UK in June, but right now I don't have a clue - my fate is in someone else's hands. If it comes to pass, I will let you know.

Hi Johanna,

Just came across your site and feel immediately inspired to try out some of your delicious-sounding recipes. Also being an Austrian living in the UK I feel particularly inspired to try out some of the traditionally Austrian (although I understand that's up for debate ;-) ones, since I haven't been back there for a while.
