I am not good with memes, but since I've been nominated by my friend Jeanne and got reprimanded at a winetasting this week for not being a good sport, I will take part for once.
This one also goes by the names of "10 random facts about myself" or "Too much information". It's definitely too much of the latter and I completely understand if you want to withdraw to a corner, cover your eyes and ears and scream "lalalalalala" really loudly until I'm done.
- I haven’t had a glass of milk in almost 20 years.
- I love the sun, but can’t sunbathe – apart from getting a heat stroke real easily, I also break out in brown blotches on my face (speckles paired with chloasma) – the doctors recommend bleaching my skin… well, I can be a bit crazy sometimes, but I am not insane!!!
- I’ve had ballet training from age 4 to age 16. It gave me good posture and incredibly crooked toes… so much so that I never wear open shoes.
- I learnt three musical instruments when I was a child: recorder, piano and guitar – but nowadays I mostly play the HiFi!
- My thesis (I read an MA in Linguistics and Literature) was on testimonial literature in Latin America (‘nough said).
- I have had a cracked nail on the big toe of my left foot ever since I was born.
- I have shared a dance with both Carl Lewis and Arnie – not at the same time and a very long time ago… and it obviously wasn’t so much as a tango, but a wiggle in some local disco in the deep dark forests of Austria. Never mind that I didn’t even know who I was dancing with in the first place!
- I first got married at the age of 9, and in style: behind a supermarket near my school with a pull-ring tab from an old coke can. I’m just glad we didn’t scour the nearby rubbish bins for our wedding reception…
- I got married for real in Portofino, Italy, and we had our wedding dinner at Ducasse’s “Louis XV” in Monaco – definitely an improvement over the rehearsal!
- Even my favourite fancy dress as a child had something to do with food: I once went as a plate of creamy spinach with fried egg sunny-side up. And I've gone out of my way to find a picture of it as proof...
That's it. You can come out of your corner now.
And I'll pass the buck to Christina of The Thorngrove Table and whoever else hasn't been tagged before and would like to have a go... feel free!
nah didnt run and cover my ears
there is a good sport...

You were born in Austria? I love Austria! I never been there but I fell in love with it since I watched the movie "The Sound of Music." I would love to learn the language too. What language do you speak? Any advice on what books or videos I can get to learn the language?
:D
