This looks absolutely delish! Sadly, venison is not something I can easily find in my local supermarket, but I can almost taste it just by looking at the pikkie and reading your recipe!

By the way, if you hv a favourite cookbook to recommend, do pop over to my blog and let me know! Thanks!

Mir zieht es den Speichel im Mund zusammen. Kannst du das zu Weihnachten machen? Papa

This doesn't only look and sound great - it was the most delicious venison on the planet. Johanna, I adore your cooking!
(I'm the lucky one who can actually eat all the spectacular food the passionate cook invents!)

Oh my word, that sounds fantastic. I miss venison from back home where we have a smorgasbord to choose from (springbok, kudu, rhebok, impala etc etc). I did see some rather spectacular looking cuts at Borough Market recently - vacuum packed steaks, fillets, goulash and roasts. I think they were all fallow deer - definitely going to get me some soon and try out your recipe!

johanna

oh yes, borough market is always a joy. i plan to go this weekend for some great mushrooms (there should be cep now) and maybe truffles? well, i never return empty-handed...
