Great recipe and fantastic photo! Must make this one.

Ai-ai-ai, Johanna! Cranberries are wonderful in cakes - check out the two cranberry cake recipes on my blog already, before I add some more:)
I've been throwing couple of handfuls of cranberries into my apple pies recently for extra colour and vitamins:)
I've got about 3 litres of berries in my fridge at the moment - got these as 'extra' when we went to pick mushrooms last time. Which means there's plenty to try your brulee recipe, too!

OMG that looks and sounds like a little bowl of heaven! I was a late learner when it comes to cranberries - South Africa does not have a huge berry culture. But now I love them - I love snacking on the dried berries and have been meaning to make cranberry bran muffins for the longest time. Maybe this coming weekend would be a good idea...

Looks absolutely delectable, johanna. You are right in that it adds the perfect tartness to rich desserts but it is so good for you health wise too :).

The rhubarb brulee sounds just as nice! I asked for a blow torch for Christmas. My husband says we aren't really creme brulee people, but I maintain that it has many uses!

if something beautiful like this presented to me, i'd definitely choose this over chocolate dessert!

julie, I tell you, once you’ve got one and make your first crème brulee you WILL be crème brulee people! My husband was the same and now he adores them!
pille, picking cranberries? i've never come across them... well, maybe i should venture a bit further out than hyde park ;-)

i cannot wait to make this! thank you sooooo much!

wow! That looks like just about my perfect dessert. I can just imagine the tartness and the creaminess... oh my.

Hi There,

I am a crème brulée addict and one of my favourites is one with pear and rosemary. Stunning taste! Just one question. Why are you using double cream and milk? Why not just 650ml pouring cream?

Danie

hi danie, double cream and milk were just what i had at hand, so there you go... i am sure it'll work just fine with pouring cream as well!
