I am probably the last to blog about my EBBP parcel... but not out of laziness, I can assure you! As spent the first two weeks of August in Austria, I asked Jeanne to tell the sender to only post so it wouldn't arrive before the 10th - little did I know back then that air travel from and to London would grind to a halt due to terror threats! So when I finally reached home, I found a delivery notice on the kitchen table, but of course, the post doesn't work on Sundays (Christmas being the only exception) and what with my new local distribution centre sporting the weirdest opening times imaginable, I it was actually only this week that I could pick up my parcel.
And what a fine parcel it was - straight from Dublin/Ireland, lovingly put together by Lilian of ifantabulous. It will take me a while to savour all the contents and while some of it is bound to be gobbled up rather quickly (I have already made substantial inroads into the maple & walnut fudge as well as the organic raspberry chocolate), there are enough things to keep reminding me of this wonderful gift: a great mango vinaigrette, perfect for summery salads which I enjoy so much, a bag of elderberry tea and, of course, a book. "Eating up Italy" sounds like my kind of reading material, I was actually tempted to pick it up at the airport recently, but then decided that travelling alone with a toddler, there was barely enough space in my hand luggage to carry a passport... I am sure I will thoroughly enjoy the book and long to go on holidays in Bella Italia.
Best of all, I also got come beautiful chopsticks as a reminder of Lil's Asian background - beautifully carved and presented in a gorgeous sleeve of rough pink linen, I actually think they're too beautiful to eat with. But I am sure they'll feature on some picture on this blog sooner or later, like so many other plates and utensils that I keep not using because they're just too pretty!
